I ended up having only three cylinders running I had it diagnosed at a tech shop and it was found that my fuel injectors were reading high ohmage and it was causing to car computer to shut down one of the injector channels. I bought some new injectors but I found the old ones hard to get out, I finally managed to get the old ones out and I verified the ohmage to be pretty high on them compared to the new ones.

The problem was that I couldn't get the fuel injectors into the fuel rail. I didn't have the mechanical leverage to do it with the hood in the way etc. I decided to use the brackets that goes on top of the injectors as a way to manuveur them in. As carefully as I could I would ever so slightly 'walk' them in as I would give each screws a couple of turns each until the entire assembly was seated and secured...well...major problem, this did not work. The car ran horribly, and it would smell of gas and smoke out the tail pipe big time. I pulled the fuel injectors out to find the o rings mangled and even the plastic spacers smushed!!!! I couldn't believe it, I didn't think in my wildest nightmares it would do this, I was being as careful as I could!

HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU GET THESE FUEL INJECTORS IN CORRECTLY, I TRIED THE SOCKET ON TOP WITH AN EXTENSION, BUT AGAIN i DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH LEVERAGE TO GET THEM IN. I weigh over 200 pounds, and I felt my body lifting up off the ground putting all my weight into trying to get these d--m things in!

Now I have three mangled fuel injectors (can they be rebuilt for cheaper then replacing them?) and one good one that actually went in ok.

Need HELP!

Any suggestions?

You should use top bracket to push them in evenly. I replaced 3 injectors myself and everything went just fine. A guy from dealership told me the top bracket trick and it worked like a charm. All o-rings must be replaced and push it gently first and use bracket to push all the way in. You should check the fuel rail wall. Is there any scratch or damage? It's not easy to pull the old one out and sometime you damage the fuel rail. If you make some damage, it'll leak.

Are replacement injectors "ethanol compatible"? I know ethanol ruins the stock ones.

I had an issue with getting them out when I was doing my last turbo hatch. I took the whole fuel rail off, and filled a tub with ATF. Soaked the entire rail, injectors and all, overnight. The next day, they came out without an issue. I could almost lift them out with one finger, lol. The ATF went down and penetrated the o-rings. Lubricated them if you will. Next time you have the issue use that.

As for putting them in. Push them in as far as you can go. Then put the top bracket on, and tighten each screw 1/2 turn at a time. Works like a charm...

If you go to dealership, they take the rail off to remove injectors. Then tap the injectors from the inside to pop them out. Also I heard from many people this bracket trick works 100% of the time.
