Denver the black plastic spacer is under/around the hold down bolts. Injectors sit directly in the rail, which sits directly on/in the manifold seal rings.I do not have any advice on installing TOP FEED injectors.

So, you didn't have to replace any of the manifold seal rings?

that's what it sounds like. Attached to the fuel rails are 2 tabs per side which are bolted down. Under the tabs are hard black plastic washers (2 per rail) The injectors are all in a line off the the side of the little bolt-down tabs. The black washers are spacers only and do not participate in sealing the injectors other than determining how low or high they are once bolted down.

So what acts as the seal between the injector/fuel rail and the intake runners? I wouldn't think a small fraction of an inch would have much effect as to the operation with the phase 2 injectors - so the phase 1 spacers should work OK with/without the washers?
