FUEL INJECTOR

anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to replace fuel injector on a 93 J30? What do I need to do this? keep in mind that my knowledge on cars is probably a 6 or 7, maybe even a 5 if you think i grade myself to high..

Reason why I asked is because my idle and fuel economy is really bad. I prolly get about 10mpg and my car idles at 600 on drive and stalls sometimes.

I've replaced the fuel filter, all the belts, clean the MAF, use fuel injector cleaner on ALMOST every oil change, replaced air filter w/ k&n filter...

You plan on replacing all of them, or you have an idea that one or 2 are bad?

no idea which ones are bad...

Tough to condone throwing parts at the problem. So you'd have to replace all 6 at once or one injector at a time till the mileage becomes acceptable. The car might at least run better, but what if you end up getting only 11 or 12mpg? How clean is the intake? Are the knock sensors good? O2 sensor OK? What tire pressure are you running? How do the plugs look? Yeah, 10mpg is really bad, but maybe a combination of things adding up? Reasonable diagnosis should be done first before plunging in with $800 in parts that may or may not solve the problem. If you suspect one or more injectors are leaking at least do a fuel rail leakdown test first to confirm, then look at your plugs for clues as to which one is the culprit. Best case, it really is an injector, and you only have to replace one of them.

I'll start w/ spark plugs and o2 sensors. How many o2 sensors are on the J30? My car is not w/ me right now..
