My car is missing as I am driving it -no check engine light now.
Need to research all possibilites but am looking at the fuel injectors as the culprit

I have used a mechanics stethoscope and can tell at least 5 of the 6 injectors "click"
regularly and at least 3 of the injectors have the right ohm resistance per the multimeter.

Have run about 2 tanks of Chevron 93 gas with a bottle of Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner and
it appears to be helping some but the problem lingers

Could the injectors still be dirty and faulty even though they "click"? It seems like I
remember carbon could hang off the pintle or end of them and maybe the treatment
may or may not remove the carbon ( messing up the gasoline atomization as the fuel
is injected)?

Any comments welcome especially anybody who has pulled the injectors and tried to
clean them. I am trying to not say this is the problem because it could really be anything.

Have you tried changing out the fuel filter? I had a maxima that somehow got all sorts of junk in the tank. Injectors wouldn't click and the vehicle ran like crap until we changed out the fuel filter. We had to do it a few more times after that too until we blew through all the crap in the tank, but it definitely made a difference. It's pretty cheap and easy. I'd start there.
