so i put my new engine in and everything is going smooth untill i start plugging stuff back in. i try to plug the injector in and i realize they are different. i believe the engine is a 93 or a 94

I called the courtesy nissan and they tell me that its going to cost $2,000 just on parts because i need new fuel rail, injectors and a bunch of other stuff. i dont see why i mean everything looks fine its just the little clip on the wiring harness that needs fixing.

so what should i do?

by the way i have a 1990 silver 300zx which iv been working on and off for the last year. the car has 200,000 but im bringing her back. Im also 15 and paying for all this myself.

The 93+ injectors are an oval connector while the 90-93 injectors are of rectangular connection.

Not sure if you can just take a 94+ connector and splice it in to your 90-93 harness and have no reprocutions. I've always just swapped harnesses.

Anybody done this.

there might be more differences between the two generations than just the fittings.

Quote »The upper and lower intake manifolds (plenums) are the same TT andNA 90-92. Newer ones are different from the earlier ones. They made thechange to the new style injectors, lower plenum, and the intake port onthe heads in 93 for the NA but not till 95 on the TT. So the lower plenumand heads on a 93 -94 NA are different than those on a 93-94 TT. Theupper plenums changed just a small bit in 94 when the angle that theflange of one of the EGR tubes bolts on to the plenum rotated about 30degrees. Just enough stuff to make interchanges a pain.[/quote]

I believe they have different impeadence, why not use your old fuel injectors, and rail? sounds like your using your old harness, so I'll assume your not doing a turbo swap so the flow rates aren't an issue, just use your old rail and injectors, problem solved

Well that would just be a pain in the ***. I have already spent so much time working on this engine and this being my first engine job or really the first time i work on a car iv been working somewhat slow. I only have time to work on it one day which is Saturday. Right now I am thinking just to take out this engine and sell it and then save up and sometime in august just do a complete swap. I have enough money to just buy a tt but this way I learn the car so much better. I would also have a chance to upgrade it while the engine is already out. also since im 15 I would also be saving some crazy money on insurance. iv changed alot of things on this engine like the thermostat housing, clutch, flywheel, water pump, and a bunch of other things. do you think i have enough experience to take on the swap?

thanks for the advice you guys, its much appreciated.

I know that the to fit a new style injector into a '90-'93, you have to get a new lower plenum.

Can you do the swap? Anything can be done with enough time and money. It will probably just take you a very long time to do the swap.
