Hey guys,my Q (91) has a really rough idle lately. It use to idle rough for a while then once warmed up it woul go away. Now it is constant. I still have plently of power. I havn't been driving it since it started this, and I miss my Q. I was thinking that it's an injector? Does that sound right or maybe something else? if it is an injector what does a shop cost to do it? Also if it is the imjector, does that mean that its so far gone I can't do anything to make it better? Thanks!

If the car feels like its rocking back and forth at idle, you have an injector issue. You can check them:http://www.q45.org/ohminjectors.html

Having done the timing chain guides and cleaned the intake path, replaced the KS and harness (and underplenum hoses) , fuel pump and filter first, then I would look at MAF connector, Ohm test the injectors through the harness, and maybe run a bottle of ISO-HEET and/or BG44K.

Tell us what you hae done and we can guess better!

deltamoon i got a couple of questions for you:1. Is the car rocking hard left to right or front to back? 2. While car is in park, go to the exaust, does it sound like this "d-d-d-d...."3 Put your foot on the brakes, and put car in drive, does it shake harder or stop shaking?4. Has car stopped on you while driving or idling?5. Does smoke come out of exaust whether its small or alot. ***(do this also.. idle car in park for approx 15 mins, after the 15mins, 6. Push on the gas a few times... see any smoke?)***What kind of gas are you using? Does it have ethanol?7. Lastly.. when driving the car no matter what speed, do u still feel the miss in the car as you push on the gas ( you may have to pay attn for that last question.. turn radio off so u can pay attn)Answer those for me real quick ... thnx.

Im willing to bet you its an injector. Sounds like you are running on 6-7 cyclinders. Run BG44k. If that doesnt work get that injector fixed. Next i read earlier about a mechanic, I BEG YOU, if you let a mechanic do that injector, please make sure he/she knows how to work on a G50. I know mechs that know infiniti but never touched a Q45. He fixed my I30 with no probs, but my Q said goodbye. If your not very carefull about who u let touch under tat hood, you may be doing the same thing im doing; either replacing the whole engine, or getting another car. Oh yea about that gas, if there is ethanol, thats was cause errosion on the injectors. Sounds like you already had one weak one, and when that ethanol finally did justice, it gave out.

If its injectors 1, 2, and 8, you can pluck them out in five minutes.

Ok thanks guys..Yes my mechanic knows infiniti/nissan cars very well. So if I run the BG that won't hurt anything driving it like that?

Well, you never gave us a maintenance update.

Might try to ahve the fuel pressure measured against RPM. Ohm injectors and KS, easy stuff like that so you have a base. A power balance test should zero you in.

NO BG44k wont hurt anything. As stupid as this may sound, there is a difference with an Infiniti/nissan mechanic and a G50(q45) mechanic. Just because they are good at infiniti dont mean their good at the older Q45. I learned that from experience, for some reason, back then i thought all infiniti/ nissan are the same. If you can work em, you can werk em all. I guess thats why im coming up wit 3500$
