Today I was doing some routine work to the motor (pcv valve and plugs) and noticed that my number 1 and 2 fuel injector were leaking from the fuel rail. So I bought a set of injector seal kits and removed the fuel rail from the vehicle, removed all of the injectors, noticed that the number 1 injector had the plastic/ceramic portion of the bottom broken off around the sprayer, but the sprayer was intact. Since this is a used car, and it was running fine before, I resealed the injectors, relaced the fuel rail and reattached the injector plugs and attempted to start the car.
Now when I started the car, it ran really, really rough at first, seemed to smoothe itself out a little, then started running rough again. Anyone that has done this before to their car, could you please look this over and let me know if there is something I missed, or could it be the broken peice of that injector that is causing the issue? Thanks.
