So is there any trick to getting the injector back into the fuel rail other than brute force...cause thats not working...

assuming SOHC: put motor oil on the O-ring first.

and if dohc...

be carefull. i like to pull the whole rail when possible and use a vice with some sockets to gently squeeze the injector in there. some pointers...

1) use lube like motor oil or better yet silicone spray

2) be carefull where you apply force. its easy to break stuff here.

oh yeah,

DONT force the injector in by the little cap with two screws. you will mess stuff up. get injector in really good before you put on cap and screws. twisting action is your friend.

one last note: pressure test the system first after instalation is complete by turning the key to on for a few seconds (without starting) and back off again a few times, check and smell for leaks.
