ok... so I have a leaky fuel injector and I'm willing to do this myself. I've heard of people doing bad jobs and leaving SQUIRTING injectors after they'd tried fixing this.

so am asking you guyz... Is this an easy job on the sohc ka24 or should I take it to a shop.

for your info, I replaced my own timing chain, i change my brakes, oil.. all that good stuff so I am mechanically inclined.

any tips will be appreciated.

easy. unbolt the rail and pull back. may have to take off valve cover i cant remember. get new lower seals for all your injectors while your at it.

well, you have to release before you replace the bad injector. quick question, internal leak or external? if its internal, you still need to replace the injector. if its external, you may be ok just doing the o-rings.

yea, release the fuel pressure (time to think of changing the fuel injection hoses/clamps/filter as well) then disconnect the battery (just so it'll reset the ecu back to factory specs while you're fiddling w/ the injectors)

unbolt that ufo-thingie (bpt valve) as well as disconnecting that bypass hose from the throttle body intake boot to the valve cover

umm,be careful of prying the electrical connectors (you'll need to keep the paper-clip retainers for the reinstall) take your time w/ this as the age of the plastics-- might break off

2 bolts on the fuel rail & they come right out. don't forget to lube the new o-rings w/ some oil before reassembly. search for other tips.

240marcuSX, i think that's the alien hunter from "predator"

yeah, just start with o-rings bro. should help out and be way cheaper. you can get good quality o-rings matched up at napa. thats if you dont go oem or if they give you the wrong ones.

Injectors on our cars are weird. Either I'm not doing it right, or they just suck. I've had two leaky injectors (2nd and 3rd cylinder), and replaced the o-rings on them twice. That didn't help, and they kept leaking. Then someone gave me their used injectors off of their old s13, saying that when they had the car, the injectors didn't leak. I replaced them, and now only the # 3 cylinder injector leaks. I'll get another o-ring for it and see what happens, but I have a feeling that the # 3 is cursed. The smell after WOT around 3-4k is overpowering, I have a feeling I may go retarded from it soon. A lot of people have complained of having replaced the o-rings, and still not having fixed the problem of external leakage. I don't know why this is happening, I'll ask at the mechanics boards.

rc engineering will clean, balance, and blueprint your injectors for like $35 each. i think its http://www.rceng.com or something.
