Help! I have read several recent AND archived posts, and can't seem to get the info I am looking for. First, I am new to this forum, so forgive my ignorance. Second, I am reasonably mechanically inclined, as is a friend of mine that "tried" to help me clean my injectors on my 2001 QX4 today. We both saw what appeared to be 2 input lines, as well as 2 fuel regulators? Then when I was attempting to pull the fuel pump relays, there is a "1" and a "2", at opposite sides of the engine bay? We are using, if I am correct, a Borg Warner fuel injector cleaning system, as well as the appropriate bottle of cleaner, purchased from O'reillly's. Question(s)-is there really 2 fuel pumps? Which is the input, and which is return line, as they do NOT have a quick connect? And do you have a thread for how to clean, and where to hook up? ....and if that wasn't enough, is there a thread or website that contains a list of the maintenance required at 100k? I am there, and know I need to do timing belt, but what else? Thanks in advance!

WElcome to NICO Knappy......

I will probably move this to the pathfinder forum after my reply.

There is actualy a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel damper.. The damper apparently removes the irregular pressure when the injectors open and close rapidly...

Anyway, if its like most nissans theres should be 2 lines coming out of the side... juts follow the line from the fuel filter and thats the input line.. The one right next to it should be the output line.. obviously youll just take a piece of hose and block the output line.....

Once you get the car running at about 40PSI, be sure to bump itup to about 50-53 PSI, this really blasts the stuff away...

Have you used BG44K prior to every 90 day oil change since brand new, this usually alleviates the need for a rail flush?

Thanks for the info...I didn't originally see the filter...but know it's there. Good point...I'll do some more checking.

It is actually my wife's SUV, and we haven't owned since new. So I haven't done that kind of maintenance. I guess I'm from the school of thought that after 100k, with assuming they haven't been cleaned, they will need it. I'm trying to make a good list of what needs to be done, preventatively, and that was obvious. Coupled with the fact that my buddy has a $500 fuel injector cleaning system, figured I would "take advantage" of him. Just costs me 10 bucks for the cleaner. This truck has no problems whatsoever, and I intend to make it last another 100k. Advice is appreciated!
