Ok guys I want to share a story and see if anyone thinks whats going on is right or can help me out.

I take my car to "reputable big name company" to get my car serviced for a full on fuel system cleaning. They take off the air intake and spray a couple shot of this cleaning stuff into my throttle body and clean the crap out of it, it was dirty as hell and now clean. That was nice, except when they tried to crank the car 3 times after they did it, it stalled a few secs after words. So anyways, they get the car running and continue they add this stuff to my gas tank, some other cleaner to my oil, and hook up a drip bottle to a vaccum hose and run my car for 25 mins at 2000 rpms as this stuff cycle's threw my engine a few times the car starts to hesatate and looks like its gonna die, but they adjust the throttle and it stays ok.

Well after this is all done I drive away, and I admit it felt real good for the next 5 days. Then, I start getting hesitation in the throttle, I shrug it off and wait and see if it still does it. The next day it starts bogging down when i press more then 25% off the line or in the first 25 mph. So I take it back in and ask them to check it and see what is going on. They guy tells me he thinks the spark plugs are bad and wants to take them out. So he goes ahead and takes them out, well theres carbon all over them, black as hell. I changed these plugs a month ago. So he says he will replace them and we will see how it does. While he takes the third plug out, he strips the hole in the head for the 3rd plug. He persists that I had stripped it before. After about a hour of arguing he says he will tap it and try to fix it. Well he ends up tapping it sideways and says he will send it to a shop for him to look at.

The next day he says that he wants to helicoil it. I am kind of sketchy on helicoil, he tells me that its eather his way or I am on my own. So I let them do it. I get my car back today and it runs fine for about 5 miles. Then it starts happening again. I call the guy and he says he will pay to take it to nissan and have them diag the problem. So I agree, but he tells me he basiclly wont pay for the repairs cause the fuel system cleaning won't cause these problems. Well I want nissan to look at it and find out what it is. Well on the way home it gets really bad and when I pull up to my drive way and shut it off it smells like gas pretty bad. I wait 5 mins and try to crank it over, its a no go, it tries to crank but it sounds like there is no compression and I can't get her started.

Any Ideas on what this is or how the hell it got like this, I am out of a car till monday at least till they can tow it somewhere.

fried plugs again?

maybe there isnt the right gap in plugs

i know i dumped(granted it was 3x then what bottle said) some seafoam stuff into a friedsn geo, the crankcase, gas tank and throttelbody it fouled plugs a lot for a week or so

ran good after that

but lately there has been gas spweeing out of the throttelbody, not sure what it is

have nissan look at it, or get a VERY reputable friend to look at it

if ti comes down to it, pay tog et it towed to Nissan

it might be flooded, which is why you smell gas

dude that sucks good luck. If your engine is so messed up it might end up being cheaper for you to swap in a CA Or SR.

I doubt that seafoam will blacken your plugs up since it is suppose to remove the carbon.

I use seafoam before every oil change and my plugs come out white as hell even tho my car runs horribley rich.

You might want to find out what they used to clean your fuel system.

Hate to say it this is why i do not trust anyone with my car. cause big companies will always blame you if there is a problem with the car and you get stuck trying to figure out there mess.

They are paying to take it to nissan on tuesday, I just cant figure out for the life of me what it is. I think they might of bent a rod when they were shooting too much of the throttle body cleaner in it. I dunno, any other ideas or help ould be apprecated.

I've used seafoam on my s14 and it did cause my plugs to turn black as coal.

I did have a hell of a time getting the car to start. The problemm was with the seafoam in the gas. I think it seperates and sometimes you get little doses of too much seaphoam in the gas lines and not enough gas. I took out my spark and cranked the engine for about 20 secounds and let it shoot out all the flooded seaphoam. Then I let it sit for about 20 minutes. Put the spark plugs in and it started right up.

When ever you put cleaner in the gas tank you better make sure it's on a full tank of 93 oct. I think thats where your problems lie.

One thing I forgot to mention was I disconnected the fuel line and clamped it so when I cracked it with the spark plugs out more fuel wasn't dumped in.

SEAFOAM SUCKS!!!

I put that **** in my 91 Eclipse and the damn thing wouldn't start either. I drained the gas tank and refilled it. It ran fine after that. My next door neighbor (who's a Master Mechanic) told me that Seafoam is famous for doing this to cars. He did that once to his car also.

Never use Seafoam for anything, I won't recommend Seafoam or Sprint to anyone

Hope you get it fixed, Nissan will be the best bet.

Can you hear fuel pump priming in the back when you turn the key half way? Air, electrical and fuel... I think it's fuel.

Wow, way to bring it back from the dead. I will say, however, After I seafoamed my car(gas, oil, and intake), it ran better than ever. It's as simple as reading the directions

The seafoam part isnt even the bad part, it is the fact that he stripped one of the spark plug wells.
