ITS ALL BULL, FULL INJECTOR CLEANER IS JUST A MIXTURE OF ALCOHOLS TO STRIP GRIMED GAS FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY POST THAT CRAP SO WHEN A FUEL INJECTOR FOULS YOU ARE FORCED SO TO SPEAK TO BUY NEW ONES. I HAVE USED FIC ON FOUR OR FIVE SEPERATE OCCATIONS IN THREE DIFFERENT ENGINES WITH OUT A PROBLEM.

The 94+ Q45 has pintle-less injectors...

I have mixed feelings on this one - Let's get Dennis' (Q45tech's) opinion on this one.

 talk about freaking people out.

if that was such a huge issue with KA's and other nissans it would be common knowledge on the boards by now-- wouldn't it?

i used seafoam, and b12-chemtool on my car on occasion.

Interesting.

From a search on Google:

In the early 90's Nissan switched to bottom>feed-pintleless injector . Bottom feed means the gasoline>(with any additives) cools the injector windings which are sitting in the>gasoline. There may be more reasons then this but I am not sure what. On another listsomeone had mentioned a SAE paper on fuel system cleaners and that oneshould avoid giving your car a steady diet of these additives. I shouldhave asked for the details. This was a list for cars that use the old topfeed injectors.

I've read somewhere, can't remember where, but I will try to find the article, that these products cause severe harm to your cars fuel system and should never be used. This post reiforces what I have already heard in the past.

It's something with the Nissan rubber on the injector seal that doesn’t like cleaners…

Actually, Fuel Injector cleaner to begin with is mostly BS, for something to truely clean your injectors EFFICIENTLY it would have to be near-corrosive.

Not entirely true.

BG products have been used and recommended for YEARS by top Infiniti mechanics. BG44K is basically the same chemical solvent that constitutes "Techron" (the Chevron gas additive). However, in the gas, it's so diluted it's only useful to PREVENT further buildup. The BG44K is highly concentrated and does a GREAT job of cleaning injectors... However, no product will reverse 100K miles of buildup - They need to be removed and cleaned OFF the car.

so, since have a CA does anyone know what the best or some of the best products are, and how frequently should they be used for the best results - and most longevity from the injectors?

Hi, AZHitman.

Dennis has commented on this before ... see the link to the thread I just posted above. Infiniti also has a similar TSB to the Nissan one in the start of this thread.

Mr. Parr - FYI, BG44K is NOT available to the general public. It is only sold to authorized mechanics, as it is a highly concentrated formula (not your watered-down STP crap you buy at PepBoys).

If it's good enough for Infiniti Master Techs (and Dennis) and the guys at T3, it's good enough for my baby.
