My Q45 is lunging hard and heavy, back and forth. It seems like it's struggling to get fuel at times. I need help on what the problem might be, and how to fix it. Any suggestions and or solutions would be greatly appreciated.....

yes, bucking. Evrything will be fine, and then it starts bucking back and forth pretty hard. Then it'll drive fine for a mile or two, then back to the bucking...back and forth. I put a bunch of fuel injector cleaner in it today, but it still didn't fix it

Check the MAF harness and the MAF for connectivity and functionality. Also check for dirt and stuff in the MAF. Take a gander at http://www.q45.org for most of your DIY needs.

BG44K, we hope!

How about a little maintenance history?

What is the MAF? Where is it located?

Is BG44K an error code? As far a maintenance, I just purchased my Q 6 months ago, so I have no idea what's been serviced. Do you think it's my fuel filter, dirty injectors, or fuel pump problem?

Mass Airflow Sensor. It is the cylindrical plastic tube thing attached to the lid of the air filter box and from there the air intake tube (about 4" diameter) goes to the throttle body. It's on the driver's side. It has a wire harness plugged into the top of it which is a little square box on top of the tube.

BG is a brand of auto oil additives and fuel/ engine cleaners. BG44K is the fuel system cleaner and is much stouter stuff than the injector cleaner you get at the local auto parts store.

You need an FSM and TSB, and a few minutes each day to read the previous posts by Q45tech.

Sometimes it is easy to forget to test the most basic items first. Did you take a fuel pressure reading with a tee'd set-up when the problem happened. If you have consult software set-up, a bad knock sensor will show-up as an erratic retard in timing. It won't necessarily put out a code. If the bucking occurs at a particular point on the throttle movement, you might be looking at a worn TPS. This was a problem that I had. Joe at Scottsdale tells me that the TPS wear out at under 100K.

Mine were too and I had the same "bucking" he does.
