Hi,

I'm just wondering if someone know why Nissan decide to put some ---- when the level of fuel is too low?

I mean, it start by flashing, but when you still have like 6-7 liters, the counter to tell you how many km left you have change for ----.

Other Nissan cars show the km until the end, why not the Rogue?

It's not really useful to get ---- vs getting the number of km.

When it change to ----------, it means that the fuel level is too low for calculation. When the fuel level is low, the meter which is used to measure the fuel level can easily be affected by the movement of the car, thus provide an unaccurate "miles to empty". So instead of showing a number which changes all the time, it just shows you -----------, which tells you that the fuel level is too low for a accurate calculation

In the manual car, it's said that the calculation is done live on the consumption of the car.

Well, the calculation should not be done on the leters left in the tank, but the number of the tank (when the computer can calculater it) and reduce the quantity by the "live calculation".

Other nissan product do that (e.g. 350z).

I am not sure how they calculate it,What I believe is that that measure the amount of gas left in the tankthen, base on the mpg(fuel consumption), it will provide you the number for miles to emptyso I believe the "----------" appears when the level of gas in the tank is to low to have a accurate measurment

correct me if I am wrong

I'm pretty sure you are right for the Rogue. What I said it's just I found that ... Nissan didn't use the same calculation as the 350z for example.

My 2 cents

It's plenty useful if you interpret it as "pull over and refuel now".
