I have a 1990 300zx 2+0 NA. just replaced the fuel pump since the 31 year old pump finally died. After replacing it and driving around I could smell fuel. So I opened the area up again and found the hose with the screw clamp is spewing fuel. So it needs to be replaced. The hose is only about 4" long but impossible to get to the other end without either 1) modifying the area or 2) dropping the tank to get to it. At least that's all I can think of right now. If anyone knows of any better ideas please let me know. I'll try to post some pics and a little video so you get a better idea.

Dropping the tank is a real pain in the azz. Lowering the rear sub frame and install will turn you off.
Maybe get a slow cutting hole saw above the hidden clamps to access them.

Yep, second that. Make a couple of neat service holes and put plastic bung plugs in them after the repair.

That's a good idea. I'll look into the hole saw, size and see what's available for sizes of plastic/rubber plugs.

Well, with a 1.25" circular saw bit and a couple of metal plugs I found at Lowe's, I was able to do this and change out that fuel hose quite a bit easier. Still wasn't exactly easy because of the angle of the hose, but much much easier. Thanks for the advice guys.

Couple spritzes of paint and you'd never know it was DIY. Nice work, happy motoring!
