fuel gauge is crazy...

Ok i was messing around last night with my 240 (95'SE) and i was doing some drifting turns, my fuel gauge goes all hte way up to "full" but i was only at like half tank..ANd now i htink it's stuck, becasue i have been driving today all day and i hasn't moved...

Could it be my floater? Or any ideas?

hahahah, same thing happened to me a few months ago while drifting, I figured it might go back to normal on its own but it hasn't. Funny thing is that when it get to your actual 1/4 tank the gauge starts rapidly moving down so the gauge isnt totally broken, I just refill evertime the gauge starts moving or i clock the millage like a motorcycle with no gauge and refill every 250 miles, its not too bad. If you fix it let me know, Im gonna take a look at it when i change my fuel pump but i could care less for the time being. Plus it looks better i always have a full tank.

I know i thought it was very amusing too, but i hope mine works like yours that begins to drop rapidly at about quarter tank.
