My fuel gauge is now extremely slow at registering fuel. I once filled it up and drove it for 45 minutes before it read the correct amount. It doesn't seem to have a problem lowering, its just when I fill the tank. What could this possibly be???!!!

I should mention, I did mess with the dash a couple times, but I was very gentle and I never touched anything I shouldn't have. I was just replacing bulbs. So if its me what did I do? Or is this just the fuel sender going out?

Do you know if it's still accurate (you said it has no problem dropping...does it show empty before the tank actually drops that low)? I suspect the sensor/sending unit and float attached to the fuel pump.
