Hi everyone, I bought a Walbro 255LPH fuel pump for my 89 240sx. I was wondering if this will fix the fuel gauge because it does not give me the correct fuel level. Does this fuel pump include a fuel sending unit as well? Thanks.

no, you might need a new sending unit, a new float, a new gauge, or you could have a break in the wiring or a bad connection somewhere. Does the gauge move at all? Do you have a digital multimeter? You need to determine the problem first.

The Fuel gauge arrow moves like crazy, it moves up as if it was full, but all of a sudden it moves down. Do you think i should buy a floater from the junk yard? That might be the problem because the meter gauge works.

hm I would borrow a friend's gauge cluster 1st.

you can buy both the cluster and sender unit from junk yard.. just make sure you pay with credit card and they have a return policy

Its not the float if the gauge makes sudden changes, you could have corrosion on the rheostat or variable resistor in the sending unit itself. Which would mean you need a new sending unit. But you should get hold of a digital multimeter first and figure out what is going on. Does the needle make crazy movements all the time or is it only when driving or what. The gauge is probably less likely to be faulty than the sending unit.
