When I start my car or even put it into accessories setting on the ignition the fuel gauge rises and sounds like it's spinning inside with gears and it's quite noticeable.

It's more noisey when cold but I still hear it when the car is warmed up.

Before I call another dealer I wanted to see if anyone else has it since my dealer says it's normal.

Does it still make the noise when you've just filled the tank? It sounds like the ABS or some other brake system test to me and it just happens to coincide with the fuel gauge rising. I had a bad speed sensor wire recently and until I fixed it the test would run every time I turned on the car (start or acc) and sounded similar to the noise you describe. No other warning lights on the dash?

No warning lights at all. I have never had a check engine light on since I've owned this car. I tried recording the noise and it's not picking it up as well as by ear.

No it happens no matter if I fill it or not. If the tank is full it makes noise all the way up. And if it's low it just happens quickly and disappears.

Why the heck would you take it to a dealer? Take it to a local trustworthy 4.5 star or 5 star rate independent mechanic. And then have him figure out if its normal or not.

Because I have factory warranty still. I'm trying to avoid paying for it at this moment.

Factory warranty on yours will end soon as its been almost 3 years, depending on the date you got your 2015 Rogue. I would do this ASAP, so it would be covered under the 3yr/36k mile warranty.

Funny thing is I made it just in time as it was valid until September but im at 59980 kms lol

It's booked in for tomorrow and they said if it is the gauge they have to replace the whole cluster.

Also I know exactly what it sounds like. It sounds like the old Flipboard clocks that flip when the time changes but it sounds more rapid on my gauge. I recorded a good video of it to bring as proof.

Took it in and they found the problem. It wasn't the fuel gauge. It was the heater/blend door etc mechanism. It was occuring just when the car is left on front windshield defrost only (I didn't even realize) it's like flapping/clicking loudly and they said they need to order the parts in as they can't just replace the one small thing that's causing it and have to replace the whole assembly under the dash. They said the dash may have to come out and now I'm worried there will be more creaks rattles after they are done.

Glad they were able to get to the bottom of it and I agree about hesitating to have them tear out the dash and maybe end up with everything put back not quite right.

The dealer should give a warranty on their work, so if anything happens during the time of the warranty, then they would fix it for free.
