Fuel Gauge doesn't move..

My fuel gauge doesnt move at all. the low fuel light comes on so i know when im running low. however since i got the car from the past owneer it has been stuck at half tank even when you turn the car off.. im not exactly sure where to start on this issue. any knowledge/help would be grealty appreciated.

its a fairly easy problem to fix......it sounds like your fuel tank float is either stuck (or most likely stopped working) ......i need information on the car

But, if the light comes on when the fuel is really low, the float may be fine. Check the float first to see if it had come unlodged. If its fine, it may be the actual gauge in the dash.

its 1992 240SX LE.. im not sure what other information u need let me know.. so im gunna check the float tonight.. i was thinking it was the actual gauge itself.. maybe theres a loose connection. thanks for the help!
