I replaced my fuel gauge and it seems it works except that the reading is out of adjustment. It goes down after the E (empty) sign but it seems it works. How can I adjust the reading, do I have to empty the tank and move the reading to E. Please help! And by the way does the walbro 255 pump waste a lot of gas in a stock KA24E? because I have one but don't know. Thanks

i wouldn't worry about that, when mine is on E i have about 3 gallons left, i would worry more about it being on 1/4 tank and having 0 left. acecool i am selling a sohc instrument cluster from a 1990 with ~180K on it if you are interested...make an offer

When I am on E I have 2 gallons left as well (11-12gals to fill up). I think it's just something that happens, and frankly I think its easier to NOT run out of gas that way.

i have that exact problem.just take your cluster out and move your needle to the desired spot and put it back on.

But wouldn't the needle or the fuel gauge get messed up by just moving it like that with your bear hands?

No if you are extremely careful.....go slow with it. The gas dial is not as delicate as the tach or the speedo one.

When your car is on E your supposed to have a couple gallons left thats the way it comes from the factory, you're basically using the the last gallon in the tank and whatever fuel is left in the pump and lines. If you have a 12 gallon tank and your on E then you basically have between and 1/8th and 1/4 tank of gas left, this isnt good. You should only have enough gas at E to go another 25-30 miles or so (which is about 2 gallons). Running your tank that low is a good way to to not only kill your fuel pump but also get some nasty crap in the injectors. I wouldn't touch your gauge unless you know for sure that your gauge isn't zero'd correctly.
