Fuel Gauge adjusting to current driving?

Hi,

Have had the Murano -06 now for 2 months and love it (except the lack of outside temp, mileage and aux possibilities on my european spec car).

Have a question regarding the fuel gauge. I have started to wonder if it's in some sort of way adjusting itself and calculating on how long the fuel will last until it stops depending och the current driving? I have noticed that if I start the car, cold outside, the fuel warning lamp is displayed. Then after some 10 minutes or so on the freeway the fuel warning lamp is turned off and the fuel gauge is climbing up towards a quarter tank. Then when I arrive downtown with a lot of stop and go the fuel gauge will lower again, not so that the fuel warning will be turned on but I can clearly see the decrease in the tank.

Have someone else noticed this?

No, it just means your fuel sensor is broken. Go in for service and they will replace.
