fuel gage not working...

hey, i was wondering if anybody knew how to fix this. i recently changed out the old fuel pump with a new one. but the fuel gage stopped working at half full. then when i filled the tank it went up to full but now it wont go down. its been like this for a while. any thoughts on how to fix this. i need to fix it asap tho!! thanks

the pump and sender was an assembly on the z32 IIRC, you might have bent or improperly installed the sender when reinstalling the pump assembly

thanks evil. i pulled out the whole unit, and repaced it with a junk yard unit i picked up. i pluged it in b4 putting it into the tank (without the pump) and played around moving the float level. the gauge then moved. however once i put the pump in and dropped it in the tank. i presume i did it right i payed close attention to the removal, and it seams according to the fuel lines it cant go any other way i havent gotten any movement. i put it in at a full tank, and have now driven about 72 miles and the gauge still reads full(gauge points slightly over top line) so i cant remeber if 72 miles can still equal a full tank or is somthing still wrong?
