There are very few gas stations in my area that aren't adding ethanol in their gas now. My Maxi runs horribly on this mixture but have to go pretty far out of the way to a station that still supplies mid-grade with no ethanol. Any suggestions on being able to run this stupid new fuel blend in my car? Thank you.

The I30 is similar to 4th Gen Maxima and premium fuel is recommended, but not required. We have oxygenated fuel here in CA but we don't have performance issue since we use premium fuel only in the I30s. Also, I add BG44K Fuel System Cleaner every 6 months. But they changed the formulation (no more PolyEther Amine) so I'm using Red Line SI-1 fuel system cleaner from now on (and much cheaper too).

Since you've been buying mid-grade, why not switch to premium and check the difference. The difference is only $0.10.

Give it what nissan recommends. I personally run 93+ only.

I'm hard pressed to find anything above 91 here. There is a 76 station on my way to work that sells VP Racing 100 but it's $8/gallon so..
