Not to be mean, are you sure you pulled the correct fuse?

Did the car die after runiing a very short while?

You said crank it four times, you actually have to have the car running and let it die from lack of fuel.

The amount of fuel required for the car to run is more than what's required to douse you :) Even the changing temp in the tank could be enough to drain the tank completely. The surest and quickest way I've found so far is to use pinch-off clamps on the hose. Harbor freight sells them for like $4 each. Simple, bent steel rods with locking clips, but they're very effective.

Was there pressure in the tank, would it help to loosen gas cap,

This is the procedure from Alldata, I followed it and had no problem

Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Fuse Location http://www.alldatadiy.com/alld...76195 Remove fuel pump fuse, then start engine. After engine stalls, crank engine 2 or 3 times to release fuel pressure. Turn ignition switch OFF, then re-install fuel pump fuse.

I was not trying to be rude just trying to figure it out

BTW the bottom hose was a *****, almost worthwhile to take it to a jiffy lube and pay

Good luck man

I had to remove the whole filter from the bracket. The hose was very tight on the nipple even without a clamp. I took a flat bladed screw driver and slowly worked around the hose between the filter to get is loosened. Took awhile. If I remember correctly I removed the top hose first (from the connection on top of the engine) and then tilted the filter down to reach the back connection. It really is a pain. Remeber to have something to catch the fuel and make sure the engine is not hot when doing otherwise possible fire and burns from getting too close to the exhaust manifiold
