Q45 = '90 (STANDARD MODEL)MAXIMA = early '94 GXE

I tried searching this new site for info reguarding changing my fuel filter on these cars, thought i saw some info on the old site, but maybe all info not transfered yet...

Anywho, both cars due for new filters... is the q45 fuel filter the same as the 300zx fuel filter?If they're the same, can this same filter be installed in a '94 maxima?Any special techniques i should employ to do it right?What basic tools can i use to change the filter? or should i cut, R/R the old lines, what do those cost roughly?If i cut the lines on the Q will i be able to get replacements from NISSAN?

I only have a Nissan dealer here in Macon, GA and i think i wanna do it this wknd, so cant wait for scottsdale to ship. Therefore if i can get both filters from nissan that'll prob work.

Not sure if they're the same filter, but the replacement should be the same as best I can remember. Just pull the fuel pump fuse while the car is running, and run it dry before starting - and be sure to loosen the gas cap too...

You can buy replacement hose, but you don't want to unless you absolutely have to... it's expensive. They're stuck on there good, but you'll get it off eventually with some plyers and a lot of cursing.

The owner of my service shop in Texas noted the fuel filter for the Q45 looked exactly the same as the one for the Frontier truck.

My Q filter is the same as many other makes as well. The bosch number is F5002.

As long as it's for a fuel injected motor & has the same size & shape etc, any will do.Please remember, some cheap filters have inferior paper in them & some don't even glue the ends of the paper to force the fuel to be filtered properly.

Use the genuine if you can, but the Bosch one is an excellent replacement at probably 1/2 the price.
