i finally changed my fuel filter. after 45 mins of busting my knuckles trying to get the hoses off i did it. when i took the old filter off, all this nasty stuff came out. i took pictures towards the end of me emptying it, but should it have even been that dirty? should this have been done 50k miles ago?

damn thats nasty Ive changed filters on 3 240's now and nothing like that ever came out, you may want to pull the fuel pump assembly and look into your tank to check the condition of it and the fuel pump sock.

it's always nice to do some mainenace on your ride. Even though I don't know squat about duel filters, I don't think anything that cruddy should be in your engine.

I would check the pump too. That could only be the result of something from the pump/tank or the lines.Just go into the trunk and lift the carpet and stuff out to access the pump (i love my hatch).

fuel filter are fun. if you got a torch hold it about an inch from one end and blow through the other really hard. you can get some pretty crazy flames shooting out of those things

flames were about 3 times that size when he first blew. in this picture he is kinda running outta breathe

You have too much time on your hands!

If you want bigger flames, just hold the torch near the gas tank...

ROFL!

You should put some Bacardi 151 in your mouth and spew it out @ the torch! Much better!

you have to change your fuel filter every 20k.

it will improve fuel flow, hello!!

you will notice how easy it is to rev it up to 7k now. engine just wants to rev.

make sure to change your air, fuel filter pretty often.

change all the fluid, etc... and any car will run forever,. well not any car, but certainly nissans will.
