Guys, My car runs sluggish for a 240.. Of course it has 150,000 miles on it. Anyway, I figure I will go ahead and change the fuel filter since its cheap and easy.. Maybe it will make a difference.I have heard and read that you should use a filter made for a 300z twin turbo.. My question is:Which one should I buy.. year and such, and what difference will I see between a standard 240sx filter vs a 300z?

Thanks for your input.. also any other ideas about the sluggish"ness".

You got a stock 240sx with 150000 miles on it... trust me, a 300zx fuel filter wont make a difference in performance.

lol

Just go and buy a stock 240sx fuel filter.

300ZX fuel filter doesn't cost much more than a 240SX fuel filter...if at all. and it's a direct fit anyway. may as well get the 300ZX filter.

@Antjaw: All 300ZX(Z32) fuelfilters are the same(from nonturbo to tt), and over here the Z32 filter was CHEAPER than the stock filter(CA18DET).

The 300z filter usually is priced lower, but it is larger and therefore doesn't fit as well into the smaller 240sx bracket. As far as I know, the internal design and medium are the same. There is NO performance advantage to putting a 300z filter on a stock 240sx motor.

As far as sluggishness... could be a million different small things. You might want to do a compression test to determine overall health of your engine. I believe 240sx.org/faq has the instructions. Otherwise, start with the basics... check ignition timing with a light, new air filter, spark plugs (NGK), wires, rotor, and so on. You might need a new O2 sensor if mileage is bad. Don't waste money on snake-oils. Do everything yourself or you get ripped off.
