It's all over the news this morning. $4/gal gas is coming soon. For years I've heard people complain that there is a conspiracy between car manufactures and the oil industry, citing the miracle carburetor developed years ago that would cut 30% to 40% off fuel consumption. As the story goes the patents for the carburetor were bought and destroyed by the auto and or oil industry and put an end to great fuel economy once and for all. Personally I never had the chance to see this miracle carburetor. I'll bet it was something to behold. Must have had tubes and gadgets all over it. I've got the solution though for those of us with big thirsty SUVs. Since the miracle carb got destroyed I'm going to get one of those little Fiestas, rip the plastic bumper off, weld a big old hitch to the frame and use that to tow me and my family around in our QX. I can hire a driver to drive the Fiesta and my family and I can still enjoy the comforts of our SUV while saving money too!
