Fuel economy droped from 30 to 15mpg?

after a tune up new plugs wires cap and roter and new belts my mpg went from 30 to 15. what gives??? i cut the catalitic converter out after the last tune up and all was great. also every once in a wile my fuel gage drops to E with the tank being full. any ideas????

O2 sensor...Coolant temp sensor.....? maybe?

i also have noticed a drop in mpg, im gonna do a tune up and see if that helps.

If your sure the problem started, and had that drastic of an effect directly after you did a tune up then the problem is most likely linked to whatever you did.

Other than that, your knock sensor could have gone bad, or your CLT sensor. Those two things are the only things i can think of that would cause that big of a loss of MPG.

Extra baggage or you gained weight? Did you check your spark plug gaps? Use a thinner oil and check your tire pressure... hahah.

fuel gauge thing is wierd. maybe related, maybe not. maybe just bad fuel level float. obviously you're not going into closed loop so i would check the o2 sensor first.also spark plug gaps could be off.

might clean your MAF sensor too.
