2012 QX56, Fuel door wont open. yes i have tried Cycling the lock/unlock, and im sure the actuator has gone bad.

Does anyone know how to get the fuel door open without just prying it open. I can not find an access panel.

Most auto manufacturers have a button located on the back of the fuel door (behind the truck interior) that can be pressed manually to unlock the door

Had the same issue. Really had to gently pry it open. Try credit card to slide between the latch and the fuel door. The QX56 actually locks it when the doors are locked. However, I had this problem with the doors unlocked as the fuel door lock actuator (or something) failed.

Once open I put tape over it so that the lock would not catch anymore. Still closes fine.

It did take a little bit to get it open, just go slow and try different angles with something thin and stiff.

Sometimes there's a trunk liner on the side of the gas tank that you need to remove to access the manual lever.
