Fuel door will not open 2007 Maxima

I have a 2007 Maxima, the fuel door doesn’t open. When activating the switch, there are all the normal sounds you’d hear (a click), but the door won’t pop open.I’m running on empty…Any ideas?

If you're hearing the click, my guess is the spring that actually opens the door is bad. Try pressing on the front edge of the door as someone presses the release button. If that doesn't work, take a very thin knife wrapped in a t-shirt and use a small amount of leverage on the back edge while someone presses the release button.
