I think its lame that there is no mechanical over-ride to open the fuel door on the G35. My actuator stopped working, and with 1/8 a tank left, went to the dealer to let them fix it. Any one else have this problem?

I've heard of it happening...you need to take a screwdriver (using a cloth so you don't damage the paint) and pry it open. I think the spring gives out. I thought there was a manual release in the trunk??

Release Button??

When driving my car back from LA I locked the car doors then tried to get fuel. Couldn't get the fuel door open to save my life. after trying for about 10 minutes I had to go back to the manual where I learned that the fuel door will not open if the doors are locked

yes, there is a manual release for the door!!!!!!!!!!go inside the trunk, and on the same side as the filler door , take out the interior panel and there it is. just press it and the door opens. dont use a screw driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fuel door somehow got a small dent in it. I fixed the dent and it quit working. Put the dent back it works :-(

Guess I'll have the stealership order me a new one.
