I have a 2006 M35, mileage about 140K. Love this car (luxury and handling on a par with BMW 5er), but an issue recently emerged. My son was borrowing the car when in town and he noticed it was taking too long cranking before starting and running rough right after starting. If switch is turned to ON for 8 or 10 seconds before pushing the button to start it fires right up and runs fine. Read somewhere (really can't remember where...) that it might be the fuel pressure regulator causing the problem. System not staying pressurized between starts. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know where to view fuel system diagrams that might show a schematic of the pump, regulator(s), damper(s) and injectors are located, The M35/M45 manual in the NICO library only shows fuel tank and pump under fuel system, nothing about fuel delivery system. Thanks for assistance,

Your '06 doesn't have a discrete FPR, it's part of the fuel pump assembly. However, it does have a fuel pump control module, and FPCM's have been known to cause spin-up problems with the pump. You can find the details in the EC (Engine Controls) section, not FL.

Thanks for the info. In searching the M35/M45 manual in NICO library I found that I have 2 dampers up front, but no FPR. As it is only a problem if I forget to give it a few seconds to charge the fuel rails I will probably let it ride for now. Not too anxious to get into the fuel pump right now, but will look for that module. Mahalo Nui Loa (thanks very much) from Honolulu
