There is no 12psi cut and getting a JDM flashed ecu is a bad idea.rtautoworks wrote:the rb25det has a built in 12psi full cut in the ecu sorry. how ever you can get a flash jdm ecu on ebay . the only thing about a ecu that has been romed in japan is the octane in japan is 100 not 93 like in the states . just pull a little timing out
everyone preaches that, but nobody can answer whyeh? wrote:

Simply because when you buy a flashed ecu off of ebay you don't know what mods it's been tuned for. You could be running around trying to find which maf was actually matched to it. Or the right injector size. Unless it was installed in the stock location in a clip I'd hesitate to use one.I'd save the headache and either go stock or pfc.Kamin wrote:

my clip came with a mines ecu and i ran it for 3 years with no issues. on **** 91 octane US gas. it never ran lean, it never detonated, and i dont think anyone will argue with me that i didnt beat the jesus out of that engine while i had it.
japan uses a different octane system, their 101 is equal to our 94 or 95 if im not mistaken. (someone correct me if im wrong) edit: i verified it. japan's 100 is equal to our 95. they use the RON system where we use AKI.
oh and +1 to no 12psi cut. never heard of that before.
how does the ecu know the boost if youve removed the factory boost solenoid and are running an aftermarket boost controller?rtautoworks wrote:sorry but iv put alot of these engines together and all of them hit fuel cut @12 psi. .on another note you wont bfind a jdm tuned ecu for the rb25det tuned for boost over 1.2 bar 17 psi and all have fuel cut removed
a GENERIC ebay chip, i absolutely agree with you.eh? wrote:
