Yes, another CA problem

I'm driving the car with some mods since a few months. I have walbro 255, hks induction kit, 2,5 inch exhaust piping, and larger injectors. Boost is 11 psi as factory specs.

The trouble is, I mounted a fmic kit which I bought from Xspower (I know it's cheap). After the fmic install, the car fuel cuts at 4500rpm. It's like hitting a huge rock or something. I was revving to the redline with the stock tiny intercooler. Where should I start from ?By the way, I bought a Z32 AFM (N62), can I solve the problem with this ? Or should I use HKS FCD or something ?

And the last question is, Z32 afm is plug and play ? Or should I have to re-programme the ecu ? If, yes, how ?

Thanx,

Aras

well if you're running the stock turbo the factory boost setting is like 7 psi not 11. that's why you're hitting the fuel cut

I guess you're wrong, the European Ca18det's all have T25 turbo's and runs with 11 psi - 0.72 bar. Also, I didn't have fuel cut with stock intercooler. It started with the fmic kit.

you have a boost gauge right?

i had the same problem, but i didn't have a boost gauge turns out the wastegate vacuum source was messed up and i was boosting like 1.5 bars

and N62 isn't plug and play, they use diffent pinsand you need an some kind of AFC or get an eprom.

I guess the 4 port CAs where different than JDM ones, because the JDM ones are wastegate regulated at 5.5psi. Even the SR is only 7.5psi. Not trying to call you out, but even the Australian FSM says 5.5psi.

I run 14psi and only hit cut on really hot days. Been doing it for about 1.5 years. And yes, you will have to remap the EPROM for a N62 MAF. You also have to rewire the harness for the new MAF (I assume you have the pigtail?) You also need to remap for your "larger injectors", as the ECU will still be metering for 370cc. And DO NOT run a FCD without a wideband. That is how you destroy your motor.

In case you need to see my mod list to see what I am running to get away with 14psi:- JDM CA18DET 8 port- SR Garrett T25G .80A/R- MBC at 14psi- HKS SSQV compressor bypass valve- HKS SSQV recirculation kit- ARC M070 sidemount intercooler- Custom hard pipes- HKS Super Mega Flow air filter- KA24E MAF (+5mm)- KA24E throttle body (+~6mm)- ? uprated clutch (came with swap)- Optima Red Top battery relocated to trunk- 11”x6” B&M oil cooler/oil filer relocated to fender/-10 SS lines & A/N fittings- ProjectSilvia O2 housing, downpipe, testpipe- HKS HiPower Silent catback (95mm piping, 120mm tip)- Walbro 255lph fuel pump- Z32 fuel filter- Nismo Adjustible fuel pressure regulator
