Are you hitting a rev limiter (bouncing), stalling out, or just topping out at 6K and won't go any further?

Hmmm.....this is where a maintenance history would be helpful.

Fuel pump and filter? BG44K? Intake path cleaning? Correct plugs?

The oem rev/fuel software limiter is set at 6900 rpm. The question: is your tach calibrated correctly or are you misreading the tach.

Normally a worn fuel pump will start limiting rpm around 4,000 but it depends

Uh. Why are you hitting 6K? Are you just revving it in park?

So, uh no one pisses themselves when he's doing 6K RPM's for the hell of it without the new guides, but when HK does his best to keep the revs under 3K until they get done, it's a crime against humanity.

Or should I take the nagging as a sign of affection?

We need a few to blow their engines due to bad chain guides in order to have access to parts cars in the junkyard and to prove to others what happens when you dont replace them

So do most destroyed engines, at least those that don't jump timing on start up.

It's one thing not to know, it's another to know and to do nothing.

Ignorantia juris non excusat.

So ignorance = a free pass?

So, no admonishment for not reading the CGA and other stickies? So you DO love me. Awww.

Whatever. I see the big softie behind that tough-guy facade. It's ok. I'm fond of me too.
