hello guys . my 95 240sx has a problem, and i been researching the forum and a lot of people have this problem. it weird. in first gear the fuel cutoff its at 35k rpm. in second gear its a 4k rpm..... but if you let goes the gas pedal a little the fuel cut of disappears. so the spark plugs and wires are changed, and nothing happened, installed a air fuel meter and wen you feel the fuel cut of the meter goes to lean. if you let goes the pedal a little bit . the fuel cut of goes away and the are fuel meter goes to optimal...... the tps is new. air filter new!!! the ground bat wire is changed.......

and if you turn the headlights the rpm's goes down, and with the power window to!!!!!

Any ideas?

I may be wrong but doesn't your car run up to only 3500 if your maf is unplugged? try unplugging your maf and see if it makes a difference.

the safe mode without MAF is about 2000-2500 rpm, check the transmission harness, maybe something is corroded, rubbed through, etc, cause the fuel cut is only in 5th gear, maybe in 4th but i doubt it.

the rpm's might drop a bit when operating the windows, but the idle should go up about 200rpm with the headlights on, cause the alty is producing more juice, increasing mechanical resistance on the rotating assembly in the alty, in turn increasing engine load, etc etc.

get out the multimeter, get checkin i guess, see what comes up

not sure if this will help or not, but after swapping the sr into my car, i had a very similar issue. fuel cut at 35k...i mean 3.5k ha ha just kidding. but i remembered someone telling me that the speed sensor could be the culprite(spelling?) so after driving home for25miles at no more than 3.5k and an hour or so later...i unplugged the speed sensor, cause mine nver worked right anyways...wahlah!!!! no more cut. i then recalled another person...i think from this forum saying that using the usdm/jdm(foget which) speed sensor will allow the engine to rev past 3.5 k all day long. so if you happen to have an sr...switch to the proper speed sensor and the issue should go away..or you can just unplugg it and not log anymiles and make more money when you sell your car! ha ha ha just kidding again..but good luck!

but i stress over reading for trouble codes; just part of the diagnosis process

in my SOHC s13, for example... something like a TPS would set the car into "safe mode"

on my car . in first gear its @ 3.5k the cutoff in second is 4.2k. and so on.... if you are in 4th gear and the speed is 60mph if you pres more the gas you feel the cutoff . like the e brake is applied. but if you let goes just a bit . the car gains speed.... my plugs are withe that means lean mixture!!! and the air meter goes crazy, when you feel the cutoff the needle goes to lean. and if the car is just in idle the needle goes rich optimal rich optimal lean

hellllllllp
