2 days ago i just filled my tank full cuz i knew the gas price would raise....but today, after drive about 125 mi. I have a little bit below the half tank mark! Of those 125 mi, 90 of them are highway miles!

This is ridicules...maybe im paranoid about precious petro...but I think I have a leak or something...my fuel tank aint dripping...

what do yall think? is my car leakin precious fuel or is it just me?

ouch...sounds like someone might be the victm of a syphoning...lol. It is very possible that you are leaking...just check for leaks in the engine bay, at different times. Like when it is cold or when it is at running temp, things like that and also try staying alert to the smell of the gasoline.

see if yoru is rich +2,

it could be a bad sensor.. my mom's xg350 ate up gas when it had a bad sensor..

and what is your idle at?.. that COULD be a reason.. but you said 90 of it was highway.. so, maybe not :/

just wait for nistech or other experts to get on this thread, they'll help alot

What s more important here is how many miles per tank did you use to get? Most cars can not quite get 300 miles per tank. You say your at 125 at half a tank. If its off its not a whole lot off. Also remember since we are in california we are at the time of year where they start changing fuel mixture over to oxygenated stuff which also effects fuel milage. Its a little early but it may be due to recent events they decided to go in a bit early. In any case if you determine you are slightly rich take a look at your ground on your airflow see if it is within spec, few threads on that here.

idling normally...at 750 RPM(altho it DOES have that fluctuation every now and then... IAAV i think?)

get about 24-26 MPG on an average

Last time i checked with the scanner, it WAS rich...but said OK to drive. Was still getting good mpg back then.

Btw my check engine light is on for that smog code.

check this out:

Nistech is probably onto something. I think you are just being paranoid. You see a fuel gauge is just a glorified ohmmeter. The thing you will notice if you have an analog ohmmeter, you will see that the scale is not proportionate. Nor is the one on your gas gauge. So either the top part of the tank or the bottom part will read disproportiately, usually the top. Check what you get on a full tank:MPG = ([Am of Gas Filled - Capacity of tank]/Mi traveled)

If you are still worried after that, then let us know. Plus yes, a lot of people are siphoning fuel, sad but true, buy a locking cap.

i dont think u can siphon off from a 240sx;unless the fuel filler door is broken, u can't get to the fuel cap.

just do a mpg calculation on next 2 fillups and verify...
