I've got two Walbro 255's in the tank and I'm pushing a lot of fuel through the FPR with normal driving. Gets the fuel in my tank pretty warm. Even with a full tank, after about an hour of stop and go, I can hear the pumps start making a lot more noise and if I feel the underside of the gas tank, it starts feeling pretty warm. I'm thinking that's not the best for the pumps and maybe even performance. I've seen fuel coolers in Summit and other places that look just like auto transmission coolers. Some of them even say they are good for power steering fluid, transmission, and fuel cooling. I'm not looking for anything fancy. I was just wondering If I can get any auto transmission cooler and use it? Any types that wouldn't like fuel running through them? I know putting it in the sending line would probably be best for performance, but I was thinking pressure might cause an issue, and I really just don't want a tank full of hot gas, so I'd probably stick it in the return line. Any thoughts? Stupid idea? Maybe slap a little fan on there too? Maybe find a used transmission cooler in a JY?

Summit link == faiL.

Look at something like the Flex-a-lite 4130 It has -6AN couplers already installed, as opposed to hose-barbs.

I'm trying to find this one Moroso (I think) frame cooler that is made from extruded alumnium. But I don't know if it is fuel compatible.

What AKI gas do you run there?

It really depends on price and what you want. I will call and look around more if you would like.

Fluidyne Bar-Plate style

Derale 24" tube-fin loop

I doubt you are interested in something like this: Moroso cool can

best setup i saw on fuel cooling was on a surge tank setup with, a heat sink on the supply side and the actualy cooling core on the return to the tank

Yeah, that flexilite link was what I was trying to link through summit. I'm wondering the same thing about which ones are compatable with fuel.

Base gas is SUPPOSED to be 93 octane RON +m/2 or whatever the hell the way we measure it in the states is. I say supposed to be because they are real shady with the way they do gas here. We have been paying $4.06 a gallon for the past 4 months BTW Of base is supposed to be 100 RON for the good stuff, which I think is around 97 octane in our system. It's like $5.60 a gallon with the big drop in prices recently (off base )

AKI is calculated differently than here ((R+M)/2) I remember doing a project on it (testing local stations to verify the accuracy of their ratings) my final year at University. I was paying ~$4.50/gal for 94 octane, now it is around $3.20!

Anyways, what do you think of the coolers that I posted. I can start looking at Aeromotive.. I really like their products. Pricey, but top-end.

Dude! just fill your car with low-alt jet fuel from teh base!

One of my buddies did it with his very un-assuming Regal T-Type.

i heard the thing you want to make sure of with the cores is that it can take the pressure from fuel systems, aside from that its a generic core, wut branch r u in and wut rank, e5 in army here, goin back to iraq in feb

I have a Moroso Cool can if your interested.I bought it used, but never used it myself.

It's pretty much a urethane bucket with 2 fittings on it and a heat exchanger inside and you fill it up with ice and water.Supposedly it works better if you put a lot of ice and some water then put a bit of salt in the water. But I couldnt tell you how well it works

Yeah, adding rock salt to ice changes the colligative properties and will actually make it much colder even though the ice melts.
