fuel check valve?

97 4wd Nissan p/u. Do I have to drop the tank? Man says the valve control unit is bad (fumes).Got the part how do I get into it?thnx

hopefully your not still messing with this, but: in a p/u you will have to drop the tank. pathys have an access panel, but its tough love with the hardbody. seen lots of these canister purge solenoids crack and leak fumes though.
