Hey guys, so I'm at a turning point very early on, instead of cleaning the original tank and all that stuff I'm just going to pick up a fuel cell and run that instead. Does anyone know of a compatible inline pump to look for. Tia

Quick question? …. What vehicle? One problem you may encounter is the return lines. Just a thought if the tank is useable you might consider purchasing a fuel tank linner kit. They’re fairly easy to use and resist ethanol. I have treated several tanks, one over 10 years ago with no problems.

I agree on what vehicle?! If this is for a D21, what is the initial goal? Are you trying to increase the Fuel Capacity? Are you trying to fix the Fuel Tank as the original is just old and worn out?

It's an 89 d21 with z24i sorry. Don't know why my signature isn't popping up eventually itll be a drift truck just slowing working it's way there. That's why I'm thinking fuel cell and inline pump as I change more things it in theory should be easier to work on

If you’re living in a state that doesn’t require an inspection you should good. What type of pump are you looking for and what type of fuel will you be using. Does the fuel contain ethanol. I

No inspection as of last year.

For the pump, Im just looking for something that would have stock pressure. I believe it's 30-40 255lph. I just don't know what brand to go with. I'll just be using standard gas pump gas 86-91

Kind of a tough question to answer. As far as a name brand most aftermarket pumps are manufactured over the pond. Even the ones that are manufactured in the USA a lot of the pieces are also manufactured over the pond. I mentioned ethanol I live in Minnesota and are fuel contains at least 10 percent ethanol meaning I would have to use fuel hose, and a fuel pump that is suitable and designed for fuel that contains ethanol. Is your engine carbureted or fuel injection? Another problem you may encounter is wiring. You’re almost going have to use the original factory wiring that is connected to the fuel pump. You might be able to use a 12 volt universal electric pump??? You also need a fuel pump that is a self prime and not gravity. Just curious where are you going to mount the fuel cell?? Before you order a pump make sure you do your homework to ensure that you have all the proper lines and fittings. Also if you’re mounting the tank under the vehicle make sure it’s mounted on the inside of the frame rail.

I have two ideas for fuel cell placement, The plan for the truck is to turn it into a flat bed, I either will mount a fuel cell where the current tank is or all the way to the rear, I'm not afraid of some wiring and hose work, This is a long term build anyways. just would like to test drive this thing already lol

I replaced the bed on a 1997 Nissan Hardbody with a flatbed. The biggest problem was rusted bolts, hoses and wiring. I mounted the tank where the original was located. The back looked a little crowded. I dreamed about doing it for months, when I got around to doing it kind of turned into a nightmare. I sometimes think I should consider taking sleeping pills before going to sleep. Good luck.

I got very lucky, this truck has minimal rust, but lots and lots of dirt. Long term plan is making a Nissan version of this thing. I'll be leaving the engine in the front because, I just don't want to move it, so I'll want that weight in the rear hopefully to hold me down to the road a bit. I know it won't be super fast with the z24i but at least it can look really cool. If you search Michi-San Hakotora on youtube, You'll get the idea of what I want to do with the engine
