My project S13 hatchback ran into a small snag..pulling carpet out of the back i noticed the access panel for the sending unit was slightly damaged..and that the 2 bolts holding it on were stripped out..after investigation of what the previous owner did i found that he replaced the fuel pump...but broke allmost all the bolts off of the sending unit/pump/tank access panel....i droped the tank today and priced a new oune out as the old owner halfass fixed it and created even more damage then what was vissible...a new tank will run $350. in my area..so i decided on a $150. aluminum fuel cell...does anyone know the leagality for fuel cells on the street..i have searched all assets known to me and have come up empty..any help would be cool..

As long as everything is sealed up properly. I do not think you will run into any "Legal" issues with a fuel cell.

If you will allow yourself to think about it. The stock fuel "Tank" is a type of fuel "Cell."

Read the motor vehicle statutes for Nevada to make sure.

Fuel cells are typically legal for the street. This is a federally regulated DOT thing, not a state based thing. Any fuel storage tank has to be mounted completely outside of the car.
