so today while pulling out of a parking lot i took a right onto the road heading home, unfortunately for me there was one of those safety yellow pipes filled with concrete at the corner of the curb,, the pole has been hit at least 3 times that i know of and in a town of only 5k ppl,, and a parking lot that's only been there for 4-5 years,, thats pretty bad,,,, but since it had been hit so many times it was at about a 30 degree angle with the ground,, so low to the ground i couldn't see it from the drivers side and ran my front right tire right over the pole,,, before i knew it i was on two tires and half suspended above ground,,, during the process i cracked a struck and had to have the car towed to the dealership,, anyone have any idea what it might cost since its a new car? i figure the dealership will price gouge me bc its an 09 but im really not exactly sure how hight they'll run it up,, that is assuming i didnt fu** up a tie rod either,, if anyone has an idea could you let me know?

Poles suck ... happened to me once in a new car with less than 600 miles on it ... did not see it until it was too late - I feel for you!

You knew the pole was there? For several years? Had been hit multiple times? And still ran into it?

Sorry about your car but, what am I missing?

Sorry to hear. I had an accident with a pole too and cracked my rack and pinion. That was a pain.

Welcome to the forums, however I have no info that you are asking for

file a claim with insurance company and pay a deductible, unless you find a shop that'll pay your deductible for you. my guess is there is hidden damage on the car and it might costs a couple thousand.

I loooooooove my backup cam. It was prolly the main reason I went for the tech package, despite all it's other downfalls.

yes yes, sorry, about the typo i meant strut,, i wish had been around when the dealership called, they talked to my mom and listed off about 6 things that needed replacing,, came out to about 1600 in the end and thats if they dont have to re-align it,,,,,,, and as for me knowing the pole was there it was a church parking lot, one that ive never even been to, so it wasnt hard to forget the pole was there and the way the parking lot was designed is odd too,, the poles around the drainage ditch are sticking out into the road, not on the parking lot side of the curb,,

Really sorry about the damage, but if it's a strut replacement, there is probably a need for an alignment. Any time a suspension part gets replaced (strut, tie rods, etc.) due to crash damage, it isn't usually an option.
