Got the Stealin FSTB off the 94 Q I sold, with one caveat. I was unable to get the passenger side bracket off. The nut was practically welded itself to the bolt. I was going to hit it with a torch, but then of course work got crazy and a guy came and paid cash for the car, end of story.

So, long story short, does anyone have some old brackets from the old custom FSTB days? I have a buddy (a poster/lurker) on here that wants it, so I've given him first dibs...of course we have to locate him a passenger side bracket to complete the FSTB.

thanks guys,

Bret

P.S. hoping to purchase 1 Q in particular shortly - very excited, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! :woot:

You will be *very* lucky to find a bracket. I think you're screwed personally. You'd be better off having another side custom made based on the other side. Stillen FSTB's come up *very* rarely (they've not been sold new for about 10 years), and very rarely do they come off the car. Not trying to discourage you, but you'd be better off tracking the car down and getting the old one off.

I have the guys number that bought the car, maybe he can get it off when he pulls the motor... otherwise a decent machine shop should be able to fab one up that mirrors the other side.

Member Jeff Williams (same username) made the FSTB's that most of us are using. His email address is in the link below. IIRC he was using Nissan Maxima brackets and modifying the bars from another application. If you can't contact him I recall a post where he described in detail how he made these so you can search his 3000+ posts to maybe find which bracket he was using.

There also happens to be one for sale in the Los Angeles area right now if you have any contacts there who could pick it up and ship to you.

thanks Mike,

ah ha:
These are 00-03 Maxima bars that I cut, drill out and re-tap to fit the Q45.
I'll pass the info on to the lucky new owner of the bar.
