Quick and hopefully simple question here.
I was going through the FSM for my 2001 Qx4 for some torque values after having taken my suspension apart to upgrade coils & shocks/struts.
Next to some of the bolts/nuts in the FSM drawings, I noticed some had the "X" icon next to it.
The FSM defines this as a part that should be replaced after every dissassembly.
For example, the nut atop the strut piston rod, which holds the coil-plate down on the strut assembly, has this "X" icon.
Also, the 3-nuts that hold the strut-mount to the strut-tower also have this "X" icon, among other nuts/bolts that I had removed to get the strut assembly out.
My question is... how critical is it to get new nuts/bolts and follow this FSM requirement ot replace?
My truck is about 10years old, and probably the previous owner has worked on the suspension before, but I have no clue as to what extent.
Did I screw myself by not having replaced those nuts and bolts?
Thanks for any input you can provide.
