Thats right, put my 240sx up on eBay... starts Sunday afternoon. Ends the day before my birthday! Haha, happy birthday to me!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...63963

See eBay link for description.

Been great hanging with you guys for the last 4 years (jeez, has it been THAT long already!). I've finished school, started a real job, and got a more "responsible" car. I never even have time to drive the old s13, it just sits in the garage. And I want some cash to do a few things to the new car. So off to eBay it goes. Spread the word to your friends, you won't find a cleaner CA swapped s13.

Thanks to everyone for all the help over the years, especially Greg, Dee, Ryan, and TMS (and the rest of the moderator crew!). You guys all rock. I'll stick around to say hi, but I think I'm gonna hang up my moderator hat to one of the new guys :P Its been a lot of fun!

peace out from sunny florida!

-Sean

Ok, so the eBay link doesn't work until the auction begins sunday. Here's a list of vehicle specs copied from the auction (that only I can see right now) to hold you over until then. I'll bump this sunday when the link becomes active!

Vehicle Specs: 1993 Nissan 240sx XE Coupe

Engine:-Rebuilt CA18DET. Has approximately 40k miles/4 years on it since the rebuild-All new OEM gaskets purchased from Classic Nissan-Stock bore, and std. bearing sizes-New oil pump and water pump-Oil changed religiously with Castrol GTX and OEM filters at the dealership-HKS - 9lb lightweight flywheel and new Spec Stage 3 KA24 clutch-JDM S13 driveshaft (no flex coupler)-New clutch slave cylinder-SPL stainless-braided clutch line-Estevan at Enjuku Racing did the wiring harness back in 2002-Top mount TD-06 20G turbo set up-Custom 4-2-1 top mount tubular exhaust manifold made by Back Yard Productions (BYP) in Miami-Stainless oil lines for the turbo w/ .035 oil restrictor-3 inch intake with K&N filter-38mm Tial external wastegate with 8psi spring-450cc dsm injectors-n60 maxima maf-Horsham Developments Stage2 ROM tuned ECU (UK company)-SAFC2-Koyo aluminum radiator-Flex-A-Lite 220 – 240sx specific electric fan kit-eBay radiator cooling panel-XAT brake booster shield-R33 Skyline GT-R intercooler with Trust CA18DET piping kit-Custom Trust 3 inch downpipe with V-band clamp and unknown brand test pipe 3.25 inch no-name JASMA-plated stainless steel full muffler style exhaust with V-band connectors. ***Super quiet! Avoid police conflicts.-Hallman manual boost controller in dash, but not hooked up with the current turbo (left over from when I had the S15 GT28R)-Transmission is starting to go. 1st gear synchros grind occasionally, as do 3rd. It’s still drivable, I daily drove it like this, but it is something that needs to be addressed. 300+hp puts a lot of strain on factory transmissions. This is my 3rd one.

Suspension:-Badger Werks coilovers from XAT with camber plates. No bounce AT ALL. Even when you’re super low like me. Great at the track too! 32 way adjustable, separate lower perch allows ride height adjustment without decrease in stroke.-Energy Suspension Hyperflex Poly Bushing kit-Nismo Urethane tension rod bushings-JDM Silvia sway bars-Hawk HP brake pads on freshly turned OEM rotors-Front and rear SPATs strut tower bars

Exterior:-Stupid rare original Nissan Motorsports/ Xenon front lip (urethane, never breaks!)-OEM Silvia side skirts-OEM Silvia rear valences-Smoked turn signals with amber bulbs-Smoked authentic ORIGIN tail lights-Stock rear Silvia and side Q’s emblems-Shiny STOCK paint-ZERO rust, Florida car-Stock rear spoiler from SE model-Shorty rubber radio antenna-SSR Reverse Mesh Wheels – 15x7.5 +0 F, 15x8-12 R. Absolutely beautiful. Would cost you an arm and a leg, and that’s if you can find another set with this low offset in this condition. They have 6 month old Hankook Ventus HRII’s 205-50-15 tires on them.

Interior:-Driver - SPL black fiberglass bucket with NAMS ultra low rails. I’m 6’3” and I fit with room to spare with a helmet on. 4 Point Momo racing harness.-Passenger – Black eBay Sparco Torino seat knock-off on custom made seat brackets with sliders.-B&M short shifter with Greddy knob. BEST SHIFTER EVER.-Nearly mint dash, one crack above the gauge cluster-Driver door panel needs to be replaced; it’s cracked where you rest your elbow. It just deteriorated from old age and daily use. A new one is cheap from a junkyard.-Cusco/Safety 21 steel roll bar. 4 point, bolt-in with factory rear interior panels cut to go around the cage. You could install a rear seat if you wanted to, but it’s currently removed.-Autometer boost gauge on steering column-Nardi wheel purchased new 1 year ago-New black leather shift boot-Custom q45 orange gauge needles in cluster-CA18DET Silvia gauge cluster with USDM (mph) speedometer.-Alpine CD player with trunk changer and Pioneer speakers. Replaced 2 years ago. At the time it was the best you could buy. Still sounds amazing.

Background:

I purchased the car completely stock in 2002 with approximately 70k miles on it from a 30 year old woman who lived in Italy part of the year. It sat in her garage for half its life. I’ve had the car since before anyone even knew what a 240sx was. It has just over 115k on it now. I can provide Carfax or the VIN if anyone is interested. There no accidents or other problems as reported by Carfax. It is a base model 1993 XE coupe with no power anything (that’s a good thing!). The weight at drag strip scale was just over 2600lbs with full interior and full tank of gas.

It’s been daily driven since I purchased it. I’ve used it for 5 years of college to go to work and school, and I’ve been using it at my post-college job for almost a year now. Its endured 45 minute each way commute daily through traffic, with NO overheating issues, as well as multiple track sessions. I’ve also taken it on long road trips with no problems. The car drives straight and smooth at highway speeds. It has working power steering, and HAD working A/C. The compressor died and I haven’t had time to find a replacement, but it has custom lines welded and the electronics are all hooked up. Also has a new evaporator from Nissan.

I ran a 14.5@101mph with bad wheelspin all the way through first and second gear on an s15 t28. I’ve never drag raced before, and I haven’t taken it to the strip with the new turbo set-up. It’s well into the 12’s now with traction (based on experiences with friend’s cars I have done pulls with). I have a dyno with my previous turbo set up where I put down 280 to the wheels. I have since upgraded to a top mount TD06-20G with a tubular manifold and Tial external wastegate. It is putting out over 300 to the wheels at 8psi. This same turbo set up on my friend’s car (who I purchased it from) made 450whp at 18psi.

The car has never been in an accident; however there are a few slight cosmetic issues, which is to be expected with any 15 year old car, but I don’t like surprises when buying a used car, so neither should you... There is a small dent in the driver fender from someone backing into me at a house party, a small dent in passenger rear quarter right near the bumper from backing into something (by the previous owner), and light damage where the driver headlight bolts up. Someone backed into me with a truck when my headlights were up, and managed to rip the driver side headlight clean off. It has been replaced and it all fits together and functions properly, but you can see where it was repaired if you look closely under the hood. None of the damage is major, you can’t even see it in pictures, and you wouldn’t notice in person unless I told you about it, but I want to be completely honest about the vehicle. The factory paint is still beautiful. Not flawless (the back bumper has lost some of its shine), but it’s still very shiny and in excellent condition for factory paint! No one believes me that its stock paint, but it’s been garaged its entire life and washed/waxed very frequently.

It is one of the CLEANEST S13’s on any of the 240sx forums, and probably the cleanest CA18DET swapped s13 out there. I am a moderator, and essentially one of the founding fathers of Nissan Infiniti Club (Nico)’s CA18DET forum. I used to post under the name “NeedCAforS13” but I haven’t had as much time recently to post as I have in the past. The last question, I’m sure, is “Why are you selling it?” Honestly, I don’t have time to appreciate it. It was my have-fun-in-college car, when I had time to take it to the track and race it on the weekends, or just work on it in my spare time (I was a technician at a Nissan dealership in Orlando). I’m now working full time as a Civil Engineer, I recently purchased a new BMW M3, and I never even take the s13 out of the garage. Seems like a waste to me… Serious inquiries only please!! Shipping is to be paid by the buyer. Local pickup is preferred so I can go over the car with the buyer. Car is located in Clearwater/Tampa, Florida. I can arrange to pick you up from the Tampa airport if you fly down for the vehicle. I would feel confident driving it any distance home. It’s a very well sorted car.

MMMAAAAAANNNN. thats an old thread. brings back lots of memories! Gets me thinking about Paul (movingviolation240)... RIP buddy. Man, Chris, so you meet so many people along the years huh. Awesome people on this forum. I'll stick around to say hi, but unfortunately I just don't have time to take an active roll on forums anymore. Thanks for that blast to the past!

Classy move, Sean! I can vouch for a mod/friend who takes care of his cars and knows what he's doing. You guys trying to build a decent car, here's your chance to pick-up a ready-to-go CA powered S13 from one of the gurus of this engine. Keep in touch when you can "Playa"............

Oh man, it probably leaks so much less fluid than mine... haha, sorry to hear you're dipping out on us, but it was a good run. Hows than new m3? Fast and out of control I hope? Thats quite a change from the little s13. Just before its too late though, I love my dad's e46 to death, but its no CA swapped s13. Even if mine gets delegated to "once a month" duty, I'm still gonna have it.

Totally F'in hot. How do you like the longer throw transmission? I thought it kind of strange that the m3 has a longer throw than the ZHP 330i.

I'm not a fan of the stock shifter at all... probably gonna get a B&M. I loved it in my s13. Makes shifts so notchy and precise feeling

Clean CA S13. I must say Keith's CA18DET S12 looks better. It's an S12 Hatch hehe.

Edit: I'm not a fan of S13 coupes, yours is really nice. Too bad you sold both your Nissans.

Quick quiestion, how did you mount the CAS without the upper timing belt cover?

I want to be just like you

And didn't you used to have an S12 with a KA, then like a VH45 or something crazy?

Man somebody buy or at least inquire about buying the damn car or just leave the thread be. He wants to sell, not discuss anything related to putting the car together on this particular thread. You guys have questions about how he did this and that to his cars or what he got and/or don't have, email him to discuss your concerns. Please don't thread jack because Sean deserves that much respect as a moderator, a friend, and a fellow die-hard enthusiast who spends money and time to get what he has. Thanks for all of you guys' attention to this matter!

P.S. This post is not up for discussion or arguments, so don't even think about it. Let's at least try and help him get his car sold without badgering him about how he did this and that or why he's selling.

Thanks,

Dee

lol, thanks Dee, but I don't really mind the questions. It just keeps bumping my thread up! I know it probably won't sell to anyone on here anyways, thats why I put it on eBay. when are you coming to visit me in Tampa dude?

But to answer your question ilovecoupes, yes i had an S12 with a KA then i swapped it out for a vg30e with a supercharger, but I sold it too... haha. And the CAS is mounted to a cut upper timing cover. look closely and you can see how I cut it around the sensor.

Nooooo! I'll trade you straight up for my 1986 toyota van with a blown head gasket.

I cant remember what manifold you've got on there, a custom job or is it a modified greddy manifold or something? I pretty much an going to need a 20g here in the future.

I believe its a BYP (back yard productions) manifold. It was made for Goofy240sx (Korey) by Dee I believe, a long time ago. I bought the whole kit from Korey, who really never drove his car...

No no no, he means to say the car itself is clean. My engine bay is neater, but the car itself looks like crap. NOWHERE does he claim its the cleanest CA swap. Dont go bashing someone else's car if you dont know what they are talking about. Lets see your engine bay, is it cleaner?

Its not the cleanest swap. It is the nicest CA swapped s13 I've ever seen though... you usually see CA's swapped into beater chassis. I don't give a $hit about how the engine bay LOOKS... its covered by this thing called a hood. Its not messy, but I didn't go out of my way to hide wires or make it fancy, its functional and efficient. Now go away.

and like Tim said, show us your engine bay smarta$$.
