Whoa, I never knew KA's had a dropping resistor, but looking at the FSM it's the same R-value if not same physical connection.. pinouts the same too.

NOTE: Only the SOHC KA appears to have one that would work, the DOHC doesn't.

Oops, I'm wrong. I was looking in the PDF FSM I have not my real FSM, and the PDF is for 89-90 European S13 not for 240SX, despite what they labelled the file as. Hadn't used it for enough of anything to notice.

I owned 2 SOHc Ka and never seen a dropping resistor. injector on SOHC Ka are High impedance(?) about 13-14 Ohm.

the dropping resistor is for low impedance setup like the ca18det (2-3 ohm) ..?

anyway ill look in my fsm to be sure

KA-E and KA-DE NEVER HAD A DROP RESISTOR.

I know 100%. Ive done enough swaps to know.

The chip you are talking about is for the ignition coil.

Hrm, ... you're right.

The PDF for 89-90 240SX is then not a 240SX, I hadn't used it for much of anything so hadn't noticed, as I have an actual 89 FSM.

Now that I look at it, it's obviously a European FSM, since its got the CA motor in it.

I've edited my posts above to correct myself
