Testing waters-I am thinking about selling my ca18det exedy lightweight flywheel brand new in box. It is billet steel for high power applications and racing. I bought this a year ago and still havent had a chance to install it on my pulsar. Throw out some offers. This piece is very rare as i have never seen another one like it. I've got a 1988 Silvia K up here in the Frozen north, know if that flywheel would fit properly on a RWD CA18DET?

Yes it will fot on both fwd and rwd. It is actually made for the silvia s13 ca18det but it can work on a fwd engine also.

They are a different diameter and also the rwd units uses a bigger clutch that will not fit into the fwd bellhousing happily.

I never tried it with my fwd transmission. I have both transmission's sitting in my garage and it looks like it would work. The box has rwd ca listed on it but i bought before i had my 240 as i thought i could use it on the pulsar. The pulsar motor has been apart now for 2 year get a full rebuild so i never had a chance to install this. I would love to use this in my 240 but i have a ca18et motor with ca18det transmission. The et flywheel is totally different than the det flywheel. I know this flyweel is very rare, as i have never seen another one in the past few years.

Are you sure it is for CA18DET? I thought Exedy don't make flywheels for this motor... Do you have a part number or link to where I can look at it?How much do you want for it?

I am looking for around 375 as i paid 500 for it about 2 years ago on ebay. I have the flywheel in my storage unit so i havent had a chance to get the part number but if someone is really interested I can go get it and also take some pictures for you. As far as I know this part is very rare and you cant buy it anywhere as I have never seen one. I got this from a japan speed shop.

well, im in college but have made NO sacrifices with my baby (car). i would just as soon starve as even think about toying with the idea of selling it. just make some rich friends and mooch like youve never done before. thats what i do. oh, and i went to costco and got myself 2 months of ramen and 1 month of mac and cheese. cost me about 15 bucks. keep that flywheel and i guarantee youll never regret it! (note: never take advice from tim unless it has something to do with the repair or maintenance of your vehicle)

Well she hasn't gotten back to me yet, so it's not mine, but regardless you are special. Short-bus special. The kind of special that requires a football helmet and a bib to be in public, kind of special. But the first step to recovery is....well nevermind, you're friggin hopeless.

As for the leash, I have no interest in your sexual habits and the reason you ride the short bus because normal people are scared of you....

Sorry i havent gotten back to you guys but I sold it to a kid locally this afternoon who offered me 400 for it. It was very hard for me to get rid of this part as i probably will never again see one like this. I wish I would have had my ca put back together to try it out.I wish i could tell you guys where to find another one like this but i honestly have never seen one around before.

nyaaaaaaa! sucks for you!

seriously though, a machine shop can make you one, or norris designs has one for 149 pounds, but its an exchange. or for 279 pounds they sell a jun 5.1kg unit. perfect run (http://www.perfectrun.com.au) has a cusco unit for $720ASD and the jun unit for $705ASD.

yep!

so that jun unit is $500 from norris designs, $507 for the cusco from perfect run and $497 for the jun unit from perfect run. any way you look at it its gonna run you a good bit. not all that much more than the exedy one though in the grand scheme of things. dont know how badly you want/need one though.
