I've been a part of this forum for 20 years. Throughout that time I've had 3 chassis and 1 engine that started life in my hands as a JDM TT import. After swapping it into my first chassis I found out that the engine was sold to me with a bent rod. After a few days of figuring out what I was doing with my life, being a kid in college at the time with limited resources and not having driven my Z in 3 years I went hardcore savings mode and over the following 2 years built an engine that was to last a lifetime. Now lets get the following out of the way.
My reason for sale: My wife doesn't want me to drive it. Yes yes I know, make your jokes. My friend had a very bad accident in my previous TT (which led to chassis #3). Once I got this one drivable my wife told me she was anxious about me driving it. To respect her wishes I'm selling it. It will be replaced by something else, the current object of my affection is an F-Type.
Short Description:
Engine is essentially Stage 2+ with GT28RS turbos.
SZ SS Clutch, LW FW, 1-piece DS
Long Description:
Body is 1992 GS Auto NA.
Body has 225,172 miles. Engine has approximately 4000 miles since full build, these miles were put on in the course of about a year and a half. The car has sat for the last 4 years with occasional starts and fuel refresh, I have kept a minimal amount of fuel in the car with stabilizer to keep it from varnishing. Manual trans has approximately 150k miles, taken from my original 1993 NA, no grinds, shifts well.
The car was built to be a street car with a 600 ish hp operating target and a lot of overhead for safety. I wasnt chasing a number, just wanted it to be ridiculously fast, which it is. Engine and driveline can handle 700WHP+ as has been proven by all of the components by multiple others on this forum and beyond.
The paint is suffering from sitting under the Texas sun, there is ZERO Rust, and the body is absolutely straight, this was a requirement when I was looking for this roller in 2016. The car has been jacked by less then brilliant folks prior to my ownership so the seam at the underside is dented. The front bumper is obviously black, it came off a previous TT (Chassis #2) I owned. Interior is stock tweed that cleans up well but definitely not "Like New". The climate control pod has been replaced with a brand new one since the photos were taken. The original "Z" floor mats and origina trunk mat are included in the sale (not pictured). Have a set of charcoal seats that I can throw in with the car since the leather DS seat is in bad shape. Also have a BNIB set of Powertrix Street Sport coilovers that were never installed which are for sale separately but can be negotiated into the sale. The value of the car is in the powertrain/drivetrain. The car runs and drives, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country though it would be a painful drive given the AC has not been charged and the lack of mufflers make it extremely loud. I have all the pieces to the AC and can assemble and charge if that's a sticking point for the potential buyer. Car loves to go sideways and is lots of fun, scared me every time I drove it.
